1st Dec, Shanghai Cultural Square (Shanghai, China) was the backdrop of the climatic 29th Elite Model Look contest, which may be dubbed an international celebration of national beauties. As the curtains came down on the event which saw global castings across some 800 cities and 60 countries, the contest of exquisite young ladies representing the most beautiful of Elite Model Management’s rising stars came to an end with Marilhea Peillard, the 18 years old from France announced as the grand winner.
The finalists, all with their own remarkable stories, and having endured 15 days of intense preparation from rehearsals, photo shoots, fittings and meetings with Elite agents, were whittled down to 15 winners, all being awarded a 3-year contract with the agency. While the stunning Lina Dornieden, the teenage model sensation from the plural Caribbean nation-state of St. Vincent & the Grenadines – the only English-speaking Caribbean country to be represented – did not make the final cut, the Latin American and Caribbean region have much to celebrate.
Latin American & Caribbean Top Models
Brazil, Chile and the Dominican Republic, countries renowned for their beauty, had Top 15 finalists with Alexsandra Becker (Brazil), Trinidad De La Noi (Chile), and Ysaunny Brito (Dominican Republic) storming to remarkable heights.
Continuing her success as a Top 15 winner, Trinidad De La Noi also finished joint 1st runner-up with Lorena Sandu of Romania, and Manuela Frey, Switzerland as 2nd runner-up, completing the Top 3 “Great Winners”; all leaving Shanghai with additional cash prizes ranging from between €50,000 and €150,000. The truly gorgeous Chilean, with the equally beautiful name, hails from Santiago and is reported to have been scouted at the age of 12 by an Elite agent, but her tender age meant having to wait impatiently until now to set the world alight with her splendour.
The annual event is the world’s largest and most renowned international modeling contest, providing platinum opportunities for aspiring models to enter the top echelons of fashion.ACU|BIEN sends heartfelt congratulations to Alexsandra, Trinidad and Ysaunny. Our love and congratulations also go out to Lina, as well as Cassandra (Haiti) and Paola Román (Puerto Rico) who also represented the Latin Americas and the Caribbean.
